Roles of Health Care Assistant

  • Maintain high standards of nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and be personally responsible for your actions following the Trusts Policies and Procedures. 
  • Give and promote Health Promotion Education under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to the patient and carer in order to promote wellbeing and prevent further unnecessary hospital admissions. 
  • Ensure a high quality service is maintained by implementing Trust Clinical Governance Plans. Work as a member of the Multidisciplinary Team, and in conjunction with these other professionals promote a holistic model of care. 
  • Maintain accurate written and/or electronic records ensuring all legal requirements are met. Be prepared to work flexibly and to the needs.

Profile

  • Understanding of quality and change in the clinical setting.
  • Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients of varying levels of understanding.
  • Able to present factual information and refer questions to others where appropriate.
  • Able to deal with sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
  • An understanding of the organisation of nursing care.
  • Basic I.T. skills in Email.
  • Basic understanding of NHS issues.
  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the health care setting.
  • Carry out clinical interventions as delegated by a RN as agreed by local protocols.
  • Experience as a Health Care Assistant
  • Able to perform a wide range of duties

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary £22,383 a year pa pro rata
  • 27 days (based on a 5 day week and includes 2 extra

statutory days) pro rata to the number of complete calendar

  • months worked in any leave year April – March.
  • Eight National days per annum (based on working a 5 day

week).
