You will work in the established Children’s Therapy team which provides services to children and young people across a wide variety of inpatient specialities, including; Intensive Care and High Dependency Units, neonatal unit, East Midlands Congenital Heart Centre, surgical and medical wards, orthopedics, neurology, and oncology. We have an established outpatient service focussing on patients with musculoskeletal and rheumatological conditions. We also have specialist roles within services such as; Cystic Fibrosis, Long Term Ventilation, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, Complications of Excess Weight, and Difficult Asthma.

Roles of Paediatric therapy Support Worker:

  • Supporting patients to complete their regular therapy programmes,
  • Getting patients up and mobile following illness, injury or operation so they can return home,
  • Issuing and adjusting appropriate equipment to support discharge,
  • Enabling participation in activities of daily living
  • Completing exercises with the patients
  • Running group sessions
  • Supporting patients with developmental delays to achieve both physical and cognitive milestones.

Profile

  •  Worked as Therapy Support Worker band 3 level
  • GCSE, Maths and English above C grade
  • Experience in relevant clinical area
  • Knowledge of role and aware of PT and OT element
  • Experience in relevant clinical area
  • Evidence of working to trust values.
